Jakarta – Nahdlatul Ulama Indonesia University (Unusia) welcomed Ma'arif Lampung University (Umala) to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Unusia Rectorate Room on Monday (June 29th). This collaboration marks a strategic step for both universities to strengthen the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through collaboration in education, research, and community service.

The Umala delegation was led by Rector Dr. Agus Setiawan, M.H.I., accompanied by Vice Rector II Dr. Muhammad Irsad, M.Pd.I., and Head of Bureau Ahmad Mansyur, M.Pd., while Unusia was represented by Acting Rector Dr. Syahrizal Syarief, MPH., Ph.D., and Vice Rector I Fatkhu Yasik.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed various opportunities to strengthen the academic ecosystem. Discussions included efforts to improve the quality of lecturers' scientific publications by utilizing access to internationally reputable journals and strengthening institutional support for developing their academic capacity.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of creating an ecosystem that supports the acceleration of lecturers' academic careers, including through expanding opportunities for academic activities, research, and inter-university collaboration.

Umala also introduced the Doctoral Impact Program, an initiative planned to launch this coming September. The program is designed to provide a platform for doctoral students to actualize their research, ensuring that their research can contribute to the professional development of the institution, society, and Nahdlatul Ulama.

Other discussions included plans to strengthen research institutions as platforms for scientific development, which are expected to support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through teaching, research, community service, and the downstreaming of learning outcomes.

The signed memorandum of understanding serves as a foundation for the two universities to develop various forms of academic cooperation, which will be followed up through future collaborative programs.

Through this collaboration, Unusia and Umala hope to build sustainable collaboration to improve the quality of higher education, strengthen the research culture, and generate innovation and tangible contributions to society.
