Jakarta – Nahdlatul Ulama Indonesia University (Unusia), through its Center for Sino-Nusantara Studies (CSNS), hosted a visit from the Guangdong Institute of Ethnic and Religious Studies (GIERS), China, on Saturday (July 18th) at Unusia's Smartclass, Jakarta. The visit was welcomed by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations of Unusia, Fariz Alnizar, and the Dean of the Faculty of Islam Nusantara, Ahmad Su'adi, along with CSNS administrators and related study programs. This meeting served as a forum for exchanging ideas and a first step in building academic communication between the two institutions.

Led by Luo Long, Director of the Guangdong Institute of Ethnic and Religious Studies, the GIERS delegation discussed various strategic issues with the Unusia CSNS team, including the development of Islam in Java, the concept of Islam Nusantara, the dynamics of Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong, and various religious issues expected to develop in the future. The discussion proceeded interactively, exchanging perspectives on religious studies, culture, and Indonesia-China relations.

In addition to discussing these issues, the two parties also discussed the possibility of establishing an academic forum to facilitate communication between researchers. This forum is expected to foster joint research and scientific publications, particularly on the relationship between Islam and Chinese culture, while also enriching studies on Indonesia-China relations from an academic perspective.

The meeting concluded with the presentation of a plaque as a symbol of friendship and appreciation between Unusia and the Guangdong Institute of Ethnic and Religious Studies. This momentum is expected to be a good start to strengthen academic communication and open up space for developing collaborations in education, research, and scientific publications in the future.

Through various international networks, Unusia remains committed to expanding collaboration with educational institutions and research institutions in various countries to support the strengthening of the three pillars of higher education, particularly in education, research, and scientific publications.
