Depok – Professor Emeritus of the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FIN) at Universitas Indonesia (UI), Prof. Dr. KH. Said Aqil Siroj, M.A., was appointed as one of the examining committee members in the Open Doctoral Promotion Defense for the Sociology Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Indonesia (UI). The defense took place on Monday (July 6th) at the Juwono Sudarsono Auditorium (AJS), UI Campus, Depok.

Prof. Said Aqil's involvement as an examiner reflects recognition of his expertise and contributions to Islamic studies, particularly those related to Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and socio-religious dynamics in Indonesia. His presence also demonstrates the active role of the Universitas Indonesia academic community in supporting the development of knowledge and academic networks at the national level.

At the defense, the doctoral candidate, Dr. Hj. Luluk Nur Hamidah, M.Si., M.PA. defended his dissertation entitled "Dynamics of the Nahdlatul Ulama Political Arena in Solo Raya: Interrelationships, Elite Contestations, and Transformation Towards 2045." The research examines the dynamics of power relations within Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), from interrelations among elites, political contestations, to projections of organizational transformation toward a Golden Indonesia 2045.

The study offers a sociological perspective on the political development of NU members, highlighting the various changes occurring in the organizational political arena as part of the ever-evolving dynamics of Indonesian society.

The trust placed in Prof. Said Aqil to be part of the examining team at the University of Indonesia further reinforces the academic recognition held by Professor Emeritus of the Faculty of Islam Nusantara, Unusia. The involvement of Unusia lecturers and professors in various national academic forums is expected to continue strengthening inter-institutional collaboration, expanding scientific contributions, and supporting the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through education, research, and community service.
